January Drunch - Fancy tablecloth Italian

Insanity restored with another wonderful drunch. Mama Melina's had some great food and is now added to the list of returns in the future. Although, Effy don't forget no meat next time!!! A few notes from drunch:

1. Coco will be bringing her ear scope thingy to the next drunch. We all want to see how it works and how much wax one can get from it.
2. During Effy's potential absense to drunch due to lack of hubby and new baby entering the world at any moment, VK (with signage) will be stepping in to be vice president for the group. We have all the faith in your abilities to ensure drunch is maintained through any emergency.
3. Big potential news.....Jazzleen is engaged to be engaged. We're all very cautiously excited about the potential down the road and look forward to hearing more about potential.

Happy 2011, I will say this drunch was a great start to the year. For many many more to come. Most might remember the ladies in the back of the restaurant that appeared to be their own drunch and let's shoot for that 30+ years down the road. I want to be drinking with my favorite ladies a long time from now so let's pace our livers and make it happen. Oh and don't forget to plan your lives around Mexico 2014!!

History of "the ladies who drunch"

When I refer to “the ladies who drunch” I am using the word ladies loosely. For, to the best of my knowledge, none of us are born from Royal Blood or sport a dazzling Lineage. As ladies we are only polite when it suits us or repentant when need be. Our language is one of laughter and good times, sharp tonges and soft hearts. Though we are not ladies in the traditional sense, we are still women and friends and confidants. Everything that one would deem necessary when searching out lifelong companions. And drunch is our time to emerse ourselves in our ladyhood. To remind ourselves that to be whole in life one must spend a good amount of time laughing over the good and the bad. And the ladies who drunch help us to do just that.

Drunch: a history Back in early 2009, I was now the stay at home mother of 2 young children. I began to realize that life was taking over and the living was slowly drifting away. Even though I loved my growing family, I missed my girlfriends. I needed the downtime that being around them provided, be it ever how brief. They allowed me to blow off steam and stress and to be the lady I knew I was inside under the wife and mother, butt-wiper and laundry doer. I missed my girlfriends! Motherhood had taught me that I do my best thinking at night, in the quiet and peace that children in cribs and locked in rooms brings. So it happened that at the stroke of 1am, on March 12th, 2009, Drunk Lunch popped into my head. THAT WAS IT!!! as a group I needed to see my girlfriends regularly! And a lazy weekend lunch with the added benefit of alcohol would do the trick! That way husbands couldn't complain about us being gone and sitters were free of charge. Once I put the idea out there, I was thrilled that my best lady pals were also excited about the idea.

April 2009, Drunch at Rositas~Greenlake! Our very FIRST Drunch! I feel so lucky to have the great collection of girlfriends that I have. I imagine them all on a shelf on my wall. But instead of collecting dust like my bottlecap and Rainbow Bright collections, I get to take them all down once a month and play with them!!!! And play we do!!! what fun!!!
